The Texture of Waiting
What happens in the mind between stimulus and response — the uncharted space of hesitation.
There is a moment you pass through dozens of times each day without ever stopping inside it. It comes just before you do something — before you stand up, before you reach for your phone, before you begin a task you've been circling around. You know what you're about to do. You haven't done it yet. You're in the gap. Right now, find one of those moments. Maybe there's something you were just about to do before this session started, or something you know you need to do later today. Hold that lightly — not the task itself, but the fact of it, sitting just ahead of you. Now, before you move toward it, stay here. Not in the thinking about it — you can set that aside — but in the texture of the space between knowing and doing. This space actually has qualities. It has a feel. The first thing to locate is where it lives in your body right now.
